    In May 1996, People's Dialogue (South Africa), SPARC (India) and urban poor community groups in Asia, Africa and South America met in South Africa to initiate a people's process for strengthening grassroots savings and credit schemes in their struggle against poverty and socio-economic injustice. The groups came together as a network called Shackdwellers' International in Africa and Slumdwellers' International in Asia. The website catalogue of documents, reports, and features, tells the SDI's story as it grows.
