South African Homeless People's Federation

The South African Homeless People's Federation is a nation-wide poor people's movement of nearly 100,000 households from more than 1,200 savings collectives in over 1,000 homeless communities. Its membership is 85% female. The Federation's primary goal is to develop its members' capacity to conceive, control and implement their own poverty alleviation strategies through community development.
