Who owns Paradise?

A readable and well-researched US-based analysis of the ecotourism business with case studies of the Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Cuba, Tanzania, Kenya and South Africa.

The book scrutinises the main players - major funding bodies, industry associations, tourism corporations and conservation organisations.

What emerges is that much so-called ecotourism is really just commercial tourism with some green marketing thrown in - 'ecotourism lite' - although Honey also highlights examples of genuine ecotourism.
