Mountain Institute, The

The Mountain Institute aims to advance mountain cultures and preserve mountain environments. Its programmes are designed to increase sustainable livelihoods for mountain communities, and promote the Mountain Agenda through advocacy, education and outreach for mountain communities. Current work centres on the Andes, Appalachian and Himalayan ranges and global networking through the Mountain Forum. Its website includes information on their projects, links and a 'just for kids' section.
